Carlux, perched on its rocky spur is located 12 km from Sarlat, medieval capital town of the Perigord Noir; this charming village borders three regions rich in History and Culture: Sarladais, Haut Quercy and Bas Limousin. Overlooked by the ruins of a splendid feudal fortress, its beautiful stone houses and alleyways create a really typical Perigord village. There is a very rare Saracen chimney dating back to the 11th century, the covered market place -as old as the castle.
